Amsterdam, NL CosmicSoft navigation software now runs on all Windows Mobile devices. The product consists of a single country map, pre-installed on a 2GB sd/mciro sd card. Under the brandname StraatAtlas (Dutch market) and DigitalRoadAtlas (EU and US market) CosmicSoft will be sold from August 2009. On the website, users can buy additional mapdata from all over the world, that can be added to the 2 GB sd card that comes with the StraatAtlas/DigitalRoadAtlas.

Amsterdam, NL Batavus and CosmicNavigation have signed a partnership deal for the development of the 2010 CyclingAtlas. The CyclingAtlas holds 200 cycling routes throughout the Netherlands with a large database of touristic points of interest. The CyclingAtlas is compatible with all TomTom © devices and Garmin © Nüvi’s. With the help of Batavus, the 2010 CyclingAtlas will be a lot richer regarding content and routes. The 2009 CyclingAtlas and the NauticAtlas are already in stores throughout the Netherlands.

Amsterdam, NL Last week CosmicNavigation came in 2nd at the Challenger award which is being held every year by the renowned business magazine SPROUT

Each year SPROUT organizes the CHALLENGER award. This award goed to the company that challenges the market leaders in their line of business. This year CosmicNavigation came in 2nd, right behind Makelaarsland. Olivier Chevalier: „We congratulate everyone at Makelaarsland and we are not ashamed to finish right behind them“.
The jury, consisting of well known entrepreneurs and leading businessmen, selected 50 companies out of a huge group of thousands of entries. These 50 make up the CHALLENGER 50. Out of that group the 3 top contenders where chosen. „ Because of the fact that there were so many entries, we are especially proud of receiving the second prize.“

Amsterdam, NL CosmicNavigation has been ranked as nr 3 in the technology Rising Star competition.

The competition is an annual ranking of tech companies that are on their way to becoming marketleaders in their specific segment. Well known companies have competed in the RisingStar competition before, such as TomTom and Coolblue. Patrick Tjon Pian Gi, who is the companies Operations Manager, represented the company during this high profile event. In a 3 minute elevator pitch, Patrick caught the room’s attention and drew a clear picture of the companies achievements and ambitions.
At the end of the evening the results came in. Patrick: „We ended up with a fantastic third place finish. I would like to congratulate Service2Media with their nr 1 spot....they deserve it!“

Right after the announcement, the Cosmic website was frequently visited and several businessleads contacted Cosmic to set up meetings. Amsterdam, NL CosmicNavigation has grown considerably this past year.

2008 will prove to be the most succesfull year in the companies three year existence. One of Cosmic’s brands, CarTrek, has closed some high volume deals in the Benelux. After analysing the official GFK numbers and the CarTrek sales in the Benelux, it became clear that CarTrek is the number 3 brand in the Netherlands with a marketshare of 9%. TomTom takes the number 1 spot and Garmin the nr 2, battling it out with CarTrek who is expected to take the nr 2 spot by the end of 2008.
The new software CS3 with it’s unique Worldwide Marine function, will make sure that the success of CosmicNavigation will continue throughout 2009. Olivier Chevalier, Director of CosmicNavigation: “Cosmic and it’s distribution partners have worked very hard getting the new CarTrek 600 out there in the market and making sure that consumers become excited about the product. The CarTrek 600 has been tested by several renowned TomTom afficionado’s and they really liked the product. The CarTrek 600 will now expand throughout West and Eastern Europe, where we already have projects going on. Amsterdam, NL During the Genova boatshow, CosmicNavigation will present the latest release of their CosmicSoft3 navigation software.

CS3 is besides a very quick and accurate car navigation software…also suitable for navigating on water. CosmicNavigation has managed to create a specific data set that holds all the important marine information. This dataset can be added to the CS3 car navigation software. In the new CS3 interface is a special MARINE button, that will unlock the marine data and turn your PND into a marine navigation unit.

Dutch GPS developer CosmicNavigation is not only moving up in the world of Car navigation, but has now also moved towards the Marine navigation market with a solution for personal navigation devices. A partnership with Marine data developer Navionics will enable CosmicNavigation to claim this market and combine different ways of navigating on portable navigation devices.
The marine data from Navionics covers the entire world! This means that every lake, river and sea in the world can now be added to your navigation device that you would normaly use in your car. CosmicNavigation has signed on another new customer. The Hungarian GPS brand NAV-i will start using CosmicSoft for their new GPS products. NAV-i has already closed several deals with major Eastern European retailers. “ the Eastern European market is growing rapidly and with this partnership we will be able to get a bigger footprint in this emerging market. NAV-i is ofcourse strong in Hungary, but they also have fantastic opportunities in the neighbouring countries.” says Olivier Chevalier, Director at CosmicNavigation.

Amsterdam, NL CosmicNavigation is developing a unique GPS product. It will be the ultimate all round navigation system. The product can be used for car navigation, motorcycle navigation and marine navigation. The hardware is especially designed to fit these different types of vehicles. The signing ceremony took place on 22th May 2008 at the Neso China office in Beijing. CosmicNavigation’s brand, CarTrek, has just released the latest product in it’s range, the CT600. This latest product will shock the already shaken market, with it’s very interesting price-quality ratio. After the success of Cosmic’s marine maps for all TomTom devices in the Benelux, the time has now come to move forward. Therefor Cosmic has managed to get access to a worldwide database of marine maps. “ this gives us enormous possibilities. We will not only develop these maps for TomTom devices, but it will also become a standard part of CosmicSoft III. CosmicNavigation’s software has proven to be reliable, easy to use….and very accurate after it’s release in the beginning of 2007. Cosmic has now released a new version of their CosmicSoft….nr III. Amsterdam,NL.  Cosmic responsible for stock crash TomTom? Recently TomTom came with dissapointing results over the First quarter of 2008. Although everyone is claiming the company is in a poor condition, Cosmic’s management still considers TomTom to be the leading company in this business, together with Garmin. “They both have excellent products and they will surely recover from this difficult first quarter.” Says Olivier Chevalier, Director at CosmicNavigation. But besides the confidence Chevalier has in his competition, there are also strategic issues that face these large companies. This is just the spot where CosmicNavigation time and time again swiftly comes in. A renowned Financial journalist stated last week, that companies such as CosmicNavigation come up with creative products at very competitive prices and that this supposedly is one of the main reasons TomTom’s result was dissapointing. “Cosmic will keep on coming up with these creative products at cut throat prices, but we will also start adding more content, such as our Marine Maps, to not only our own products…but also to TomTom’s. We hope to help them sell more devices due to the fact that people can now also use them on the water”, says Chevalier.

This Location Based Services project has all the ingredients of creating a revolution in the world of navigation, according to several GPS business experts.Olivier Chevalier: “First we explained the concept, but we are the type of company that goes by the rule; seeing is believing. So we demonstrated Map@ds on an actual device….and then jaws simply dropped. Especially because it’s so simple and it doesn’t take a lot of expensive technology. Map@ds will have it’s soft launch in March 2008.

The trip started in Los Angeles, then San Francisco and finally they went to Las Vegas where Cosmic was an exhibitor at the CES show, the largest consumer electronics show in the world. It was a wild journey, through sandstorms and near-accidents due to a huge storm. But CosmicSoft showed them the way…and they were in time for the CES in Las Vegas.
